Our CO₂ report
CO₂ is one of the biggest impacts in the climate accounting and therefore it is important that we as a company relate to and take a position to our CO₂ emissions. It is important for us to be at the forefront, as there is no doubt that in the nearest future, CO₂ accounting will become a requirement for all companies.
This means that in 2022/2023, it must be possible for our customers to see 80% of our products’ CO₂ consumption via the item text on the invoice. In this way, we will open our CO₂ accounts towards our customers and work targeted to reduce it as much as possible. At the same time, in our work we will help customers and other partners to have focus on their own CO₂ consumption and at the same time optimize the process for our partners.
CO₂ report 2020 og 2021
We have selected year 2020 as our baseline. This means that in the coming years, it will be possible to compare and relate to the various emissions on an annual basis and what is the increase/decrease in consumption. Initially, we have focused on our own house and looked at the three areas that cover energy consumption, transport, and waste.
Our total Co2 in 2020 was 25,29 ton and in 2021 it was 39,16 ton. The increase in the Co2-emissions is based on increased activity in 2021 and a more normlas Co2-impact on our waste. The increased turnover in 2021 is on index 135 compared to index 120 at the Co2-emissions.

At Scan Visan, we use straw as heating, and it is considered to be CO₂ neutral. This means that heating is not included in the calculation. For energy and processes, electricity consumption is included, in 2020 the main part of electricity was bought as Green Electricity. In 2021, there has been a shift in supplier and therefore the numbeer includes some un-certainsies Green Electricity comes from wind power here in Denmark. A part of our transport is with our own cars that deliver and pick up our products.
In relation to waste, a large part of the waste in 2020 has been scrap iron, which has been recycled. Therefore, the actual consumption of waste is not high and is for the most part outside the scope, which can be read here in the overall report. In the 2021 numbers, there is a more “normal” waste consumption.
Flexibility, short lead time, less CO₂
In relation to our production, we have also made a choice. We are a Danish company with Danish local production, which results in a shorter delivery time and much more flexible solutions for our customers. At Scan-Visan, we know that the best solutions are created in close collaboration with the customer and by always being close to the daily production.
Another significant factor is our transportation time. Danish local production results in significant savings on the use of transport and thus CO₂ emissions.
What is a CO₂ report?
A company’s CO₂ footprint consists of the total CO₂ emissions from the company and is calculated in an annual CO₂ report. The report indicates the emission of greenhouse gases from activities related to production and operation of the company, from extraction of raw materials, transport, processing and production as well as sales, use and disposal of the product.
The report from Scan Visan A/S and the numbers included is based on the official GHG Emissions calculation Tool. Further we use the “Klimakompasset” to the calculations.
